The City of Johannesburg’s finance department is on a pensioner rebate registration drive in Region G. Today, they are assisting pensioners with rebate registration at the Lenasia Civic Centre until 3pm.

The drive will proceed to Eldorado Par, 4046 Link Crescent Avenue on 19 July between 9am and 3pm, before wrapping up at the Ennerdale Community Servixces Centre on Cnr Katz and Louw Streets on 21 July between 9am and 3pm.

City of Johannesburg has given pensioners who own residential properties until 30 September 2023 to apply or re-apply for pensioner rebates benefits.

Current benefits lapsed on 30 June 2023. Pensioners stand to score big on the recently approved property rates, which saw the City approving only 2% increase in the property rates. The implementation of the new tariffs will be 1 July 2023.

City’s Group Finance Department Director of Customer Communications, Kgamanyane Maphologela, says all applications for the rebates received by the 30 September 2023 will be backdated to 1 July 2023. The City has also approved property rebates for different categories of pensioners, which will go a long way in providing relief for hard pressed pensioners.

Hopefully CoJ will also have our streetlights and potholes fixed. Solar streetlights were installed in Finetown while CoJ hardly collect any revenue from there while Ennerdale residents have to pay through their necks for services they hardly get.
