This afternoon, Southside Pharmacy located at 69 Starling Street, Lenasia South oficially opened its doors. It is set to serve the communities of Lenasia South, Ennerdale ,Migson Manor and the surrounding suburbs.
“Where Medicine Makes Sense” is not just a slogan for Southside Pharmacy says Responsible Pharmacist; Bibi Aysha Shariff, it is the underlying principle of what pharmaceutical care at Southside Pharmacy will be.
“A vast majority of patients are dispensed medication and do not really know what the proper indication, duration of action or at times even how to take the medication for example, the reasons why medication is taken after meals, before meals or on an empty stomach.”
“We intend to bridge the gap by making sense of the medication whether chronic or acute as there is a shift towards an increased awareness among members of the public about their own health,” said Shariff.
Southside Pharmacy will be offering the public late trading hours 7-days-a-week and an emergency after hours service, as sickness does not abide by the hands of a clock during normal hours.
All major medical aids are accepted.

- Monday to Friday: 9am – 8.30pm (closed between 12.30pm and 2pm on Fridays)
- Saturdays: 9am – 8,30pm
- Sundays and public Holidays: 10am – 8.30pm
