The Viakfontein Men’s Forum, in partnership with Unisa, is dedicated to fighting gender-based violence (GBV) and promoting social change within the City of Johannesburg.

The organisation focuses on empowering communities and collaborating with key stakeholders, such as the Lenasia South SAPS Social Crime Prevention Unit, Lenasia South Thuthuzela Centre, the City of Johannesburg Municipality, and the Department of Social Development.

The Forum hosts empowerment seminars aimed at educating men and boys, grooming them into responsible leaders through mentorship and skill development.

Their initiatives target schools in Viakfontein, Zakariyya Park and Lenasia South, involving both primary and high school learners.

Viakfontein Men’s Forum director, Bennett Ndzoko, emphasised the organisation’s mission: “Our goal is to equip communities with the tools they need to foster respect, accountability, and positive change. We groom boys to become better men through our mentorship programmes.”

Through its efforts, the Forum continues to build a culture of respect, leadership and social responsibility, ensuring a safer and more equal society for all.
