Body in Motion: Empowers women and girls through boxing

Next year, Body in Motion plans to inspire and empower more women and young girls by introducing self-defense and fitness programmes in local schools.

Based at Lenasia South’s Civic Centre, the club provides a safe and supportive environment where women of all fitness levels can improve their physical health, boost self-confidence and learn essential boxing skills under the guidance of expert trainer Coach Lameez Hendricks Kassam.

This year, the boxing club celebrated significant achievements, helping women enhance mobility, stamina, agility and muscle density while managing weight. Beyond physical benefits, the club has fostered self-esteem and confidence and advanced in reflexology, sports massage and coaching techniques.

Their kiddies’ boxing programme is evolving into a full extracurricular activity, promoting discipline, focus and a healthy lifestyle for the next generation.

Kassam told GLOBE POST: “Our mission is to teach young girls self-defense skills while building confidence, resilience, and a positive mindset. We’re introducing boxing and fitness to local schools, showing how they transform both physical and mental health. Our evolving kiddies’ program promotes discipline, focus and a healthy lifestyle for a brighter future.”

Training sessions are held on Mondays at 17:00 and Saturdays at 08:30. For more information, contact Coach Lameez at 079 602 5279.
