Amahle Sibongile Matyholo and Zizipho Asamkele Matyholo, known respectively as Hlehle and Zoe, are two rising stars in the South African music industry, and they’re on a mission to make their mark on the global stage. The talented duo from Lawley has joined forces to create the musical group “Zamakwayi,” specializing in Afro-Pop music that combines unique artistry and powerful storytelling.

Hlehle, born in Johannesburg, South Africa, discovered her love for music at a very young age. At just 10 years old, she began her musical journey by joining a choir in primary school. Her passion for music continued to flourish as she progressed through high school, where she once again participated in a choir and even earned a prestigious choir award. Her songwriting is inspired by everyday life situations and aims to inspire people of all ages.

Zoe, originally from the Eastern Cape of South Africa, relocated to the Western Cape for her high school education. In grade 9, she became a part of the school choir, and her dedication paid off when she won a choir award in grade 10. Zoe’s music is known for its unique approach to conveying messages to the universe, creating a spiritual connection for listeners. She shares Hlehle’s vision of composing international-standard music that can be embraced worldwide.

Together, Hlehle and Zoe have formed the musical sensation “Zamakwayi”, the name is drawn from their Xhosa clan’s name, symbolizing their deep connection to their African heritage. Through their art, they aim to inspire others who have voices or aspire to embark on a musical journey, demonstrating that nothing is impossible.

In 2023, Zamakwayi is poised to make a significant impact on the music scene with the release of three singles: “Onondaba,” “Izenzo,” and “Wena Wedwa.” These songs are scheduled for a mid-November launch and promise to showcase their exceptional talent and unique style.

Zamakwayi’s ultimate goal is to have their music recognized on a global scale, win prestigious awards, and use their voices to heal and motivate people around the world. They are enthusiastic about the opportunity to collaborate with individuals within the music industry who can contribute to their growth without exploitation.

Stay tuned for more news and updates from this talented musical duo as they pursue their dreams in the world of music.
