Breaking News: Joburg building fire claims 63 lives

In a tragic incident, a fire at a five storey building which occurred earlier this morning at around 1.30am in Johannesburg Innercity on Corner Alberts and Delvers has claimed 63 lives while 43 are injured.

City of Johannesburg Emergency Management Services spokesperson, Robert Mulaudzi told GLOBE POST: Firefighter responded to the scene, on arrival theystarted to evacuate all the people out of the building while conducting Firefighting operations. At this stage the cause of the fire incident is still a subject of investigations. As of this morning, 63 fatalities and 43 injuries have been recorded.”

Officials from City of Johannesburg Disaster Management have been activated to start facilitating relief for affected families.
