Nine candidates battle it out for Ward 7
Ward 7 residents in Finetown, Ennerdale and Meriting will head to the polls tomorrow, Wednesday, 28 June, to elect a new councillor. The seat became vacant when former ANC Councillor, Amelia Zama, resigned.
The candidates are as follows:
- Amelia Ann Naude – Independent
- Luvuyo Kamba – ActionSA
- Sipho Maxin Lukhele – African National Congress (ANC)
- Mxolisi Vuma – Al Jama-Ah (ALJAMA)
- Theophilus Emanuel Louw – Amalgamated Rainbow Movement
- Thabiso Godfrey Thuputlela – Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF);
- Royston Wynston Williams – Inkatha Freedom Party (IFP)
- Lois Cathleen Simonse – Patriotic Alliance (PA).
The Democratic Alliance (DA) is not represented after its candidate, Randell Markgraaff withdrew from the contest.
Voting will take place at the following centres from 7am – 9pm:

- Fred Norman Secondary School – Cnr Neptune & Poseidon Ennerdale Ext

- Buyani Primary School – 2022 Central Street Finetown
- Tent (Finetown Near Stand No. 3104) – Stand No. 3104 Finetown Informal Settlement
- Finetown Assembly Of God – Beatrice Street Finetown Ennerdale
- Ennerdale Ext 1 Community Hall – 1376 Achilles Crescent Ennerdale Ext 1
- Winnie Mabaso Foundation – Mabaso Creche Finetown North Meriting


This is a big relief because cable theft and water meter theft is very rife in Ennerdale. CCTV will make life easier and to absorb the existing patrollers and adding more patroller on the ground will be a huge help with crime in in Finetown and Ennerdale
