Ennerdale pool champion – Chantel Bloy – seeks support to attend National Championships in Western Cape
Ennerdale Ext 3’s Chantel Bloy will represent Central Gauteng Pool Federation (CGPF) in the upcoming South African National Ladies Pool Championships to be held at the Sports Recreational Centre in Saldanha, Western Cape between 29 April and 5 May.
Every year Central Gauteng sends teams to participate in the South African National Championships. If successful at these tournaments, players, referees and managers will have the opportunity to represent South Africa at the World Eight Ball Pool Championships held in England.

“Although being a recognised sport in South Africa, our Sport does not have any major sponsors therefore it is incumbent on the players to raise their own funds to cover their costs to attend tournaments. The CGPF welcomes any forms of sponsorship, either by sponsoring the Team or an individual player. Companies sponsoring can be assured that the team will be used as a means of advertising by bearing the emblem of the company at the Championships should you require this,” said the CGPF committee.
Bloy seeks to raise approximately R9 000 to cover provincial clothing, food, team registration, singles entry, referees contribution, table money, transport and accommodation.
In order to raise the amount, she is holding a fundraiser tomorrow, Saturday, 15 April on 92 Poseidon Road in Ennerdale Ext 3. Malay Chicken Curry will be on sale for R50 a plate (strictly halaal) from 1pm.
“I urge residents to please come through and support me so that I can raise enough funds for the tournament. I also plead with individuals, businesses, organisations to please donate any amount they can to help me cover the costs and represent Ennerdale at the tournament,” Bloy told GLOBE POST.
