A 40-year-old man was arrested after police and other law enforcement officers found a bag of dagga and an undisclosed amount of cash during an early-morning operation in Old Eldorado Park on Friday, 11 September.
The arrest was made at approximately 05:45 during Operation Prosper, a joint crime-fighting operation involving Eldorado Park SAPS, the South African National Defence Force (SANDF) and the Anti-Gang Unit.
According to police, officers acted on crime intelligence received from an anonymous source about suspected dagga dealing at a property in Old Eldorado Park.
Members proceeded to the identified address and met a 40-year-old man who identified himself as the owner of the premises.
Police said officers requested permission to search the property and that the man voluntarily granted permission.
During the search, members allegedly discovered a bag containing dagga as well as an undisclosed amount of cash believed to be proceeds of crime.
The man was subsequently arrested for allegedly dealing in dagga.
Operation Prosper forms part of ongoing joint law-enforcement efforts aimed at combating crime and disrupting illegal activities in the Eldorado Park policing precinct.
Police have urged residents to continue working with law enforcement by reporting criminal activity and providing information that could assist ongoing investigations.
