An intelligence-driven operation in Eldorado Park has resulted in the arrest of a 32-year-old man who is facing a charge of dealing in dagga, following the recovery of a quantity of suspected drugs and cash during a search of a premises in the area.
The operation was conducted on Wednesday, 9 September 2026, after members of the Eldorado Park Crime Prevention received information about an individual who was allegedly involved in the possession, sale and distribution of drugs in Eldorado Park and surrounding communities. The information was assessed and acted upon by the team, which included Gauteng Traffic Wardens and members of the South African National Defence Force (SANDF), as part of efforts to address criminal activities and remove illegal substances from local communities.
Following the receipt of the intelligence, the law enforcement team operationalised the information and proceeded to an identified premises linked to the suspected activities. A search was conducted at the property, where officers reportedly recovered a substantial quantity of packaged and loose suspected dagga. Cash believed to be connected to the alleged drug-dealing activities was also found during the operation, strengthening the case against the suspect.
The 32-year-old man was subsequently placed under arrest and is expected to face the charge of dealing in dagga in court. He is expected to appear before the Kliptown Magistrate’s Court soon, where the matter will proceed through the legal process.
The operation highlights the role of intelligence-led policing and cooperation between different law enforcement structures in responding to criminal activity.
