Vlakfontein Ext 1’s Constance ‘Conny’ Mashaba who was earlier this month brutally murdered by her husband, who later took his own life was laid to rest in Tzaneen yesterday.
The horrific discovery was made by the couple’s children when they returned from school, stumbling upon the gruesome scene in their home.
Constance’s brother, Zakhele Phasha, fondly described her as a kind and loving person, known for her warm hospitality.
He expressed the family’s deep trauma, particularly for the children who found their mother’s lifeless body on the bedroom floor. The extent of the tragedy revealed that she had suffered multiple wounds inflicted by an axe and spear. On 24 January, a candlelight memorial service was held to remember Constance.
