This week, Globe Post Weekly Snapshot Issue 17 brings readers a colourful mix of community action, crime updates, environmental awareness and the arrival of spring, keeping you connected to what is happening across our communities.

In Lenasia South, the 3G’s Can Drive showed the power of giving after a simple “bring a can, if you can” campaign resulted in an impressive 329 tins of food being collected for families in need. The initiative demonstrated how small acts of kindness can grow into meaningful community support.

Crime also comes under the spotlight, with the latest SAPS figures raising concerns in Lenasia. The statistics show increases in trio crimes and residential robberies, with 91 trio crime cases recorded between April and June 2026, highlighting some of the safety challenges facing the area.

As September marks Arbor Month, Johannesburg City Parks and Zoo is encouraging residents, schools, businesses and community organisations to help build a greener city by planting and caring for indigenous and fruit trees.

Issue 17 also welcomes the new season with a cheerful Spring Day message, while keeping readers connected to local entertainment and Globe Post’s latest digital content. From community initiatives and important local statistics to celebrations and awareness campaigns, there is something for everyone in this week’s Snapshot.

Local news. Real stories. Your community. Every week.
