A vehicle hijacked in Zone 12, Sebokeng, has been recovered in Lenasia after being found stripped, while the two women who were kidnapped during the incident have been located safe.
On 2 March, a woman and her friend were inside the vehicle when they were abducted by suspects and held hostage in Orange Farm throughout the night. Following the incident, the pair were reported missing, sparking concern among family members and the community.
The vehicle was recovered on Tuesday, 3 March, in Lenasia. It had been stripped of several parts and was reportedly damaged. It is understood that the vehicle was also involved in a crash during the ordeal.
Relief came when it was confirmed that the two victims had been found safe. They were reportedly released by the suspects at around 5am and later made their way to the De Deur Police Station. Police investigations are ongoing as authorities work to trace the suspects involved.
