A stabbing incident at Ballbreakers Mondeor over the weekend in the early hours of Saturday, 5 April left one teenager dead and another fighting for his life.

Trinesh Lorenzo from Lenasia South, was fatally stabbed in the heart while a 17-year-old, also from the area, remains on life support in an induced coma after being stabbed in the back—an injury that severed a major artery and punctured a lung.

The suspect,18, appeared at the Booysens’ Magistrate’s Court this morning and is being charged with murder and attempted murder.

The case has been postponed to 16 April and will now be heard at Johannesburg’s High Court. The sudden change in court venue has left the families of both the deceased and the surviving teen confused and seeking clarity.

The funeral of the late Trinesh Lorenzo Pillay took place on Sunday, 6 April, attended by devastated family members, friends, and members of the Lenasia South community.

At the time of post, Globe Post, was still awaiting official comment from SAPS.
