On 17 January, the Youth Entrepreneurship Boot Camp Graduation and Awards Ceremony took place at Saint George Primary School in Ennerdale Ext5, celebrating young participants who successfully completed the programme.
The event, led by Melvyn Petersen, recognized participants for their commitment, innovation, and leadership, awarding accredited certificates that allow youth business owners to access further support and funding through the National Youth Development Agency (NYDA).
Leader of the boot camp, Melvyn Petersen, said: “The support from BACUFA SA and the Ennerdale Royalties Team has been invaluable. Their dedication has helped create real opportunities for young entrepreneurs to grow their businesses.”
“This initiative is about empowering the next generation with more than just knowledge – it provides access, credibility, and pathways to further development,” Petersen added.
The programme aims to equip youth with essential entrepreneurial skills, business knowledge, and practical tools to build sustainable enterprises and contribute to local economic development. The 2025 graduation underscores the impact of collaboration between community leaders, organisations, and stakeholders committed to fostering innovation, leadership, and a resilient local economy
