Residents of Lenasia, Lenasia South, Vlakfontein, Lehae, Finetown, Mereteng, Migson Manor, and Zakariyya Park are being urged to prepare for water supply interruptions as Rand Water carries out planned maintenance at the Eikenhof Pump Station.

The station feeds the local water system through key reservoirs, including Cosmos, Hospital Hill, and High Level Reservoirs. The first phase of maintenance will take place from 18:00 on 19 December to midnight on 21 December 2025. During this period, residents may experience reduced water pressure or complete outages.

A second shutdown is scheduled from 04:00 on 6 January to 08:00 on 8 January 2026, with similar expected impacts. Johannesburg Water has urged residents to store sufficient water in advance and to use it sparingly during these periods. Water tankers will be deployed where possible to provide an alternative supply while maintenance is underway.

Authorities stress that the planned work is crucial to ensure the long-term reliability and safety of the water system serving Lenasia and surrounding areas.
