The Karthigay Theepam celebration, held on 3 December, concluded on a resounding note of devotion and spirituality.
The keynote address by Thiru Villa Pillay on Saivism and Karthigay Theepam left the audience both enlightened and inspired. Mesmerizing performances by Kesvishka Naidoo, a student at the Shivohum School of Dance, added a vibrant touch to the event, captivating the hearts of devotees.
Attendance by guests, members of the organisation, and the broader community was strong despite challenging weather conditions. The unveiling of portraits of our leaders and founding fathers coincided with the Temple’s 39th anniversary, making the occasion even more special. The unveiling of portraits of the late founding members -Thiru Sassie Pather, Thiru Somasunderam Marie Pillay, and Thiru Niney Moodley of the Siva Gnana Sabay-was a poignant moment, paying tribute to their enduring legacy and invaluable contributions.
The event was seamlessly coordinated by members of the organisation’s Spiritual Council, ensuring a smooth flow to the program and creating a divine energy and vibration throughout the celebration. Despite the rain, devotees walked around the temple chanting “Aruna Chalasiva,” their spirits undeterred by the downpour. The celebration stood as a testament to the enduring spirit of devotion and community.
