Ennerdale author Chantel Bloy celebrated a major milestone with the successful launch of her book From Disgrace to Grace on 25 October, held at the corner of Katz and Smith Walk in Ennerdale Ext 3.
The heartfelt memoir takes readers through Bloy’s deeply personal journey – a story of resilience and redemption. Through her pages, she opens up about surviving homelessness, abuse, humiliation, and rejection, and ultimately finding healing, faith, and purpose.
Written in English, Afrikaans, isiZulu, and Sesotho, From Disgrace to Grace aims to connect with readers from all walks of life and languages, offering encouragement to those facing life’s hardest battles. The book launch drew an enthusiastic crowd and was filled with uplifting energy. Guests were treated to live entertainment, poetry, and light refreshments, while attendees had the opportunity to take photos and receive autographs from the author.
Speaking to GLOBE POST, an emotional Bloy shared her gratitude and joy for the support she received on the night: “The launch was a success -there was a moment I completely broke down,” she said.
“I felt so blessed by everyone who motivated and congratulated me. My brother, sister, kids, and close friends all came out in numbers to support me,” she shared.
Bloy also took time to acknowledge those who made the event possible: “I would like to thank all my sponsors who made the event so special – Timothy Bernard from The Star, who was my photographer; Mr Keyster, who did an amazing job as MC; and Miss Myrtle Williams from Ladies of Hope for her incredible support,” she said.
She further expressed her appreciation for the younger generation who participated in the celebration: “A special thank you goes to the Ennerdale Secondary School students who came through to showcase their talents. It was truly an amazing evening filled with love, inspiration, and unity. Thank you to everyone who made it a night to remember,” she added.
