In a statement issued on 07 October, Johannesburg Water noted that illegal connections are placing a significant strain on the Ennerdale and Lawley reservoirs causing residents to experience low water pressure or in some cases complete outages.

The utility said it is currently assessing the situation and will implement the necessary corrective measures to stabilize supply. It further emphasized its commitment to fair water distribution and assured residents that alternative supply arrangements would be made where needed.

The public is urged to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities or unauthorized water connections by contacting the Johannesburg Water’s anti-corruption hotline on 080 0002 587 or email anticorruption@tip-offs.com
