The DIA L/S (Daughters in Action, Local Structure) celebrated Women’s Month with a special event at Emmanuel’s Christian Fellowship Church in Ext 4.
The gathering united faith leaders, community stakeholders and women to share messages of strength and hope.
DIA L/S chairperson Pastor Jayshree, expressed gratitude: “We extend our heartfelt thanks to these amazing Servants of God for hosting our event and for their labour of love in the community.”
She urged women to rise above cycles of abuse: “Our stories start at home and end at home. Abuse is a learned behaviour. Take action! Step out, speak up, get help! Own your destiny in Christ as a beloved Daughter of Zion.”
Other voices echoed this call. Chairperson, Mr Billy, said: “Walk away from abuse! Report abuse! Report your man!”
The Youth Desk added: “Adjust your sister’s crown.”
Pastor Jairus shared: “Wives, submit to your husbands, and husbands love your wives as Christ loves the church.” Pastor Carol led prayer, crying out against abuse of women, children and the vulnerable.
The day ended with fellowship over lunch. As Pastor Jayshree concluded: “A great rebuilding of wounded souls has begun, step by step in Jesus’ mighty name.”
