The Avalon Cemetery stands as a sacred resting place for loved ones and it is thanks to the dedication of selfless volunteers that its dignity continues to be upheld.
For years, a group of committed community members has tirelessly cleaned, restored and maintained the cemetery grounds with sincerity and perseverance.
The organisers shared: “This campaign is not about recognition; it’s about honouring those who came before us. We want to ensure that Avalon remains a place of peace, respect, and dignity for future generations. We are humbled by the many residents who, in their own quiet ways, contribute towards keeping Avalon clean. Every small effort makes a big difference.”
A special word of gratitude also goes to Saaberie Chishty for their unwavering support in community causes. Heartfelt appreciation is extended to the clean-up team led by Hafez Ridwaan Bismilla, Ashraf Ismail, Aasif Modek, Moosa Karolia, Firoze Ebrahim, Ml. Ismail Mia, Yaseen, Imraan Onia and Farhaad Khan.
