Finetown’s very own Shantel Sibanda is bringing back the glamour and purpose of pageantry with the much-anticipated Second Annual Miss Finetown.
Set to take place on 8 October at the Multipurpose Hall in Finetown, the pageant invites young women aged 16 to 28 to showcase their talent, confidence and beauty. The event, which did not run in 2024, aims to reignite passion and opportunity for aspiring models in the community.
Shantel Sibanda, told Globe Post: “I’ve always loved modelling and wanted to bring it back because I believe it can change lives. You never know where modelling might take you.”
Driven by her passion, Sibanda has already secured support from sponsors DS Trophies and Mepho Media and is currently in talks to bring back previous sponsors from 2023. Although she admits to feeling a mix of excitement and nervousness, Sibanda remains hopeful.
“I’m happy that it’s happening, but also scared I might fail. Still, I believe with support from the models, sponsors and community, I will succeed.”
The Miss Finetown pageant continues to be a platform for uplifting young women – not just in style, but in spirit and self-belief.
