With jobs as scarce as a winter sun, many people have turned to entrepreneurship. But starting a business comes with its own set of challenges-especially getting customers. That’s where Antoinette van der Heever steps in. She has launched the Ennerdale Flea Market, a platform designed to help local entrepreneurs showcase their businesses and boost sales.
Held at Jwayelani, The Busy Corner Car Wash, the market takes place on the first and last day of every month, offering a vibrant space for small business owners to connect with the community. Here, you’ll find everything from delicious cakes and biscuits to stylish clothing, food, health products, perfumes and more.
Antoinette, who understands the struggles of running a business, is passionate about creating opportunities. “I started the market on 5 April to give entrepreneurs a space to grow their products and earn an income. Another reason is to keep business local, so people don’t have to travel outside Ennerdale for flea markets when we can have our own,” she told Globe Post.
