The much-anticipated revamp of Ennerdale Train Station is well underway, with the project now reaching the 50% completion mark.

Ward 7 Cllr Lois Simonse recently conducted an oversight visit and expressed pride in the transformation taking place under the leadership of PRASA.

“I am honoured to witness the remarkable progress of this project. The quality of construction and attention to detail are a testament to the dedication and vision for a modern, efficient and safe transport hub for our community,” said Cllr Simonse.

This upgrade is set to improve connectivity, boost economic activity and enhance infrastructure in Ennerdale, Finetown and Meriteng.

More than just a facelift, the revamp focuses on functionality, accessibility and commuter safety. Cllr Simonse assured residents that she will continue to monitor the project’s progress to ensure it meets community needs.

She also urged locals to take pride in this development and work together to protect and maintain it. “We are building a better future for Ennerdale and beyond. This station revamp is a significant step in the right direction,” she concluded.
