The Lenz70 celebrations will be launched at 2.30pm on Saturday, 8 February at the Protea Recreation Centre in Extension 7, Lenasia.
All Lenasia-based community organisations are invited to the event, which will finalise the nature and form of the 70-year celebrations. The Interim Committee called on community leaders to attend this important event where the 70-year campaign plan will be outlined.
The following activities will take place this month as part of the Lenz70 celebrations:
1.Lenasia Schools’ Sport Association: Inter-Primary Schools Athletics Championship on 8 February at the Lenasia Stadium.
2.ISKCON Lenasia Nityananda Triyodasi Festival 7 – 10 February.
3.Lenasia Schools’ Sport Association: Inter-High Schools Athletics Championship on 15 February at the Lenasia Stadium.
4.Lenasia Table Tennis Association (LTTA) Tournament every Wednesday and Thursday evenings between 7 and 10pm from 29 January to 20 February at the Gandhi Hall.
5.Mohan Hira Shotokan Karate Tournament on 15 February at 89 Hydrangea Avenue, Lenasia. 6. Hindu Co-ordinating Committee will host the Shivratri Yatra on 23 February.
7.Infinity Padel Men’s Tournament will take place between 5-11pm on 22 February at 10by20 Lenasia. Meanwhile, the Lenz70 Interim Committee congratulated the Principal, staff and learners at Lenasia Secondary School for its successful and emotional celebration of 70 years of the school’s existence.
Former students and teachers attended the event, which had an excellent photographic display of the school’s history.
