City Power’s new Eldorado Park Substation was officially launched today, marking a significant enhancement in the city’s energy infrastructure.

The event was attended by Johannesburg Executive Mayor, Cllr Dada Morero, MMC for EISD, Cllr Jack Sekwaila, new Board Chairperson Makhosini Kharodi, and CEO Tshifularo Mashava.

MMC Cllr Jack Sekwaila welcomed residents and stakeholders, underscoring the critical role of the new substation in strengthening the city’s energy framework.

Mayor Cllr Dada Morero emphasised the need for community protection of the facility to ensure reliable electricity supply. He also highlighted the importance of timely payment of rates and taxes to maintain uninterrupted services. Additionally, Mayor Morero announced that City Power will install high mast street lights to help combat crime in the area.
