In the early hours of 2 December, unknown perpetrators bombed FNB and Nedbank ATMs outside the Hyperland Supermarket at the crossroads of Provincial Road and Town Road in Ennerdale.

According to official reports, at approximately 2:30 AM, three unidentified African males, armed with rifles and handguns were involved. The suspects managed to flee the scene before law enforcement arrived.

According to SAPS spokesperson, Sgt Anthony Kholo, the incident resulted in the loss of a staggering R653 000 in cash, a significant blow to the affected financial institutions. Forensic teams discovered about 20 cartridge remnants scattered across the area, which were meticulously collected by the LCRC Bomb Unit for further investigation.

Despite prompt action by law enforcement, no arrests have been made in connection with the crime thus far. SAPS have launched a full-scale inquiry into the matter, collaborating with various investigative units to track down the culprits.

Authorities urge anyone with potential information to come forward and assist in the ongoing investigation, contact CRIMESTOP on 08600 10 111.
