On Friday, 10 November, Love and Hope Rising (LHR) together with Heartlines, SAPS, Divine Intervention Approach, Vlakfontein Men’s Forum and other organisations hosted a Men Matter campaign and launch of Men of Purpose Forum at Daxina Christian Centre in Lenasia South
The event promoted awareness about the importance of providing safe spaces, support and assistance for all men in who often encounter numerous challenges in their personal lives. Attendees were taught how to attend to their feelings and fears.
Pastor Seth Naicker and Pastor Jayshree Nariansamy shared inspiring words about the importance of men in the society. The Love and Hope Rising organisation discussed matters that men face daily and encouraged them to open up about their problems instead of resorting to substance abuse to help them cope with their pain and trauma.
At the workshop, it was reiterated that men are desperately needed in their families and in the society to take their rightful place which can be made possible through personal growth and development – the main aim of the Men of Purpose Forum.
