Isikhulu esisabambile sase-Eskom, uMnuz Calib Cassim, sizwakalise ukungenami ngemibiko yokuthi kungase kube mnyama bhuqe, ezweni ngenxa yezingqinamba zokuphehlwa kukagesi.

Esitatimendeni uCalib uthe imibiko yokuthi kuzoba mnyama bhuqe ezweni uyibone ezinkundleni zokuxhumama kodwa ayisilo iqiniso.

“Iyasikhathaza imibiko esatshalaliswa ezinkundleni zokuxhumana yokuthi kuzoba mnyama bhuqe ezweni. Ngithanda ukuqinisekisa abantu baseNingizimu Afrika, ukuthi akusilo iqiniso leli, ayisoze yenzeka into enjalo. Uma sinqamula ugesi sisuke sigwema ukuthi izwe lifike esigabeni sokuthi kube mnyama bhuqe,” kuchaza uCassim.

“Sinazo izinhlelo ezibhekelele lokho kodwa yinto engasoze yenzeka ngoba sinezinhlelo eziningi kabi eziqinisekisa ukuthi kunogesi ezweni,” kusho uCassim engqungqutheleni kagesi ebizwa nge-Enlit Africa.

Uthe akaqwashi nokuqwasha ebusuku ngoba e-Eskom kukhona abasebenzi abawaziyo umsebenzi wabo osekuphele iminyaka emithathu beqinisekisa ukuthi izwe alifiki esigabeni sokuba mnyama bhuqe.

Uphethe ngokuthi bayaqhubeka nezinhlelo zokuphehla ugesi, bayayilungisa imishini efile futhi banezinhlelo zesikhathi eside nalezo abaziqhuba njengamanje.

Namhlanje kuzoba nesithangami sezindaba lapho i-Eskom izocacisa ngezinhlelo zayo zokuphehla ugesi ebusika nokuqinisekisa ukuthi akungenwa ezigabeni eziphezulu zokunqamuka kukagesi.

Kuleli sonto ugesi unqamuka ngokwesigaba sesine bese njalo ngo-4 ntambama ugesi unqamuke ngokwesigaba sesithupha.
