Lawley’s DB Burundi FC wins Njabulo Makhunga memorial tourney

Sibonelo Mtshali from Pastor FC hosted the U18 Top 16 Njabulo Makhunga Tournament on 29 and 30 April in Lawley 2.

People from all walks of life attended to witness the games which DB Burundi FC taking the prize money, a kit, trophy and medals.

Head coach, Lwazi Mnisi said: “It was a tough tournament but my boys showed hunger and zeal hence we are Champions and we will defend it next year.”

The winning team

16 teams from Soweto, Pretoria, Rooderport, Kanana Park, Lehae, Lawley Station and Thembilihle participated in this knockout tourney, these include:

SGS and DB Burundi,

KYD,

Layoso,

Peace Makers,

VBC,

KvK,

BK Stars,

Juventus,

Lays Reloaded,

Lawley Academy,

Long Horn,

Amapiano and All Stars FC.

“In Lawley, we have people who love football and I want to keep that in my hood. Congratulations to DB Burundi FC for winning this tournament,” said Mtshali.

This is the first tournament Mtshali has hosted this year, the Sihle Mtshali Cup and Lawley Super 8 will soon be held, he organises these tournaments without any support from sponsors and appeals to readers to support with any form of donations.
