After encountering a plethora of hair problems during lockdown, Graceful Nene (23) took it upon herself to create an organic, safe and healthy product using natural ingredients.

In 2020, Nene established a hair and beard product – Boss’Fro aiming to solve natural hair challenges, she told GLOBE POST: “A thorough research was conducted prior to production, we use 13 locally sourced organic oils. Our products stimulate growth, restore hairline, strengthen and prevent hair dryness.”
The Finetown-bred entrepreneur was amazed by the product reception and utility, she said: “In a space of two months, I could see a huge change in the texture and growth of my hair. Friends, family and customers started seeking the products as they worked wonders for them as well.”

Nene added: “Our main challenge is securing investors or funding from organisations that help SMMEs, however, we save what we make from sales so that we can meet banks and other funders halfway.”
Boss’Fro currently employs 3 people and has launched an academy where they teach people how to plait hair and provide business coaching to potential salon owners.
Nene plans to be a trailblazer in the hair product industry and hopefully dominate the retail space.
