A Yellow Level 2 warning for severe thunderstorms has been issued for Gauteng, with residents urged to prepare for dangerous weather conditions.
The warning includes the possibility of strong damaging winds, hail, excessive lightning, and heavy downpours that could lead to localised flooding. Authorities have cautioned that the storms may result in damage to infrastructure, informal settlements, property, vehicles, and could also impact livelihoods and livestock.
In Johannesburg, conditions are expected to remain cloudy with scattered showers and thundershowers. Temperatures will range between a minimum of 14°C and a maximum of 22°C.
Residents are urged to remain cautious and avoid flooded roads, open areas during lightning, and unsecured structures during strong winds.
