The newly built state-of-the-art Finetown Clinic in the South of Johannesburg will make health services readily available to the residents in their locality who will now travel shorter distances to their own clinic.

Although opening dates are yet to be announced, the Gauteng Department of Infrastructure Development said the new facility is also built to health infrastructure standards aligned to the National Health Insurance Scheme policy that brings all primary health care services under one roof and reduces pressure on hospitals.

The construction of the new facility has also seen more than 55 local residents taking part in the construction project, while 10 local contractors also provided different types of services. The project also procured materials from 10 local suppliers during construction.

The completion of the clinic is part of the Department’s commitment to complete all outstanding construction projects at a faster scale. This follows on MEC Lebogang Maile’s adoption of a systematic and comprehensive intervention approach to unlocking all stumbling blocks towards efficient and effective infrastructure delivery in Gauteng.
