Feeding hope in Ennerdale every Thursday

A community feeding scheme run by the Redeemed Gospel Church (RGC) in Ennerdale continues to provide much-needed meals to hundreds of residents, four-and-a-half years after the initiative was established.

What started as a small programme feeding around 50 people has grown significantly over the years. Today, more than 300 people receive meals every Thursday at 2pm, demonstrating the growing reach of the church’s Mercy Ministry.

The feeding scheme operates from the Redeemed Gospel Church at 539 3rd Avenue, Mid-Ennerdale, next to Busy Corner Car Wash, where community members gather weekly to receive a prepared meal.

Pastor Leecrichia Rezant, Head of Department at Mercy Ministry under RGC, said seeing the initiative grow over the years has encouraged the church to continue serving the community.

“When we started four-and-a-half years ago, we were feeding about 50 people, and today we are able to serve more than 300 people every Thursday. Our aim is to continue reaching out and helping those in our community who need a meal and support,” said Rezant.

The initiative has become a regular source of assistance for residents, particularly households and individuals who may be struggling to meet their daily needs.

Despite the significant increase in the number of people attending, the church continues to open its doors every Thursday and provide meals as part of its commitment to supporting the Ennerdale community.

Residents who would like to benefit from the feeding scheme can visit the church every Thursday at 2pm.
