Major upgrades at Nancefield Primary School in Eldorado Park are taking shape, but a recent site inspection has revealed several safety and construction issues that must be resolved before the project is completed.
The A-Team inspected the school to assess progress and ensure contractors remain on schedule.
Visible improvements include new ClearVu fencing and gates, landscaped areas, roofed walkways, sports field stands and upgraded security systems. Work is also progressing on the school hall’s air-conditioning system, LP gas reticulation, pumps and final snagging.
However, the inspection identified water ponding at the combi court, exposed plumbing, doors obstructed by electrical installations and outstanding fire safety requirements.
“Our teams remain focused on completing the outstanding work while working with all stakeholders to resolve identified risks and deliver a modern learning environment that learners and the Eldorado Park community can be proud of,” the project team said.
Attention is now turning to the remaining work, including hall finishes, stage curtains, a sound system and network installations.
The outstanding defects and safety concerns will need to be addressed before the upgraded facilities can be fully handed over and used by learners and staff.
Once completed, the project is expected to provide Nancefield Primary School with safer facilities and a more modern learning environment.
