Finetown youth transform passion into streetwear success

Boikanyo Lefete, popularly known as Razo Marn in Finetown, is making waves in the local fashion scene with his vibrant streetwear brand, ES’BUJWENI Clothing.

Known for its bold, hand-printed designs and kasi-culture flair, the brand is quickly becoming a favourite among style-conscious youth across Johannesburg.

Founded in 2023 while Boikanyo and his friend Vuyokazi (popularly known as Stress RSA) were still students, ES’BUJWENI was born from a shared dream: to create affordable yet stylish clothing that resonates with township youth. Today, the brand offers a range of streetwear essentials – from t-shirts and hoodies to pants and caps – all aimed at young people who wear their identity with pride.

Lefete told Globe Post: “One day, I’d love to see ES’BUJWENI in malls and stores across the country – something proudly local that speaks to our roots. It’s more than just clothes; it’s a culture.”

Like many startup founders, the journey wasn’t smooth. One major hurdle was finding reliable suppliers for their custom prints. But the team found a solution by forming strong relationships with local printers and sourcing better materials, ensuring quality without sacrificing their vision.

“One of my proudests moments was when the brand started generating income – even if it was small -it felt like real change. We were finally seeing our hustle pay off, ”said Lefete.

Based in Soweto but rooted in Finetown, Boikanyo continues to grow ES’BUJWENI with passion and purpose, proving that style, culture and entrepreneurship can collide to create something truly powerful.
