City of Joburg welcomes President Cyril Ramaphosa’s extension of the spaza shop registration deadline to 28 February 2025.

This extension provides spaza shop owners with more time to comply with municipal regulations and operate legally.

Why Register?

Registered owners will be complying with municipal regulations. It will also allow them access to business support programmes and funding opportunities; improved safety and security for your business; and the opportunity to contribute to economic growth and community development.

How to Register?
