On 9 August 2024, the Tamil Federation of Gauteng West Region hosted a remarkable Women’s Day function at the Transvaal Andhra Sabha in Lenasia South.

The event was a resounding success, dedicated to honouring and empowering the extraordinary women in the community.

The TFG West Region team, consisting of Priscilla Arumugam, Judy Poonsamy,Tharmakumary Muttukumarasamy, Ragani Govender, Pushpa Govender, and Shirley Naran, worked tirelessly to ensure a memorable and impactful celebration.

This function would not have been possible without the generous support of our esteemed sponsors, whose contributions were instrumental in making the event a
triumph. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to each and every one of them.

As we celebrated the strength, resilience, and beauty of women, we were reminded of the powerful words of Maya Angelou:

“Do not bring people in your life who weigh you down. And trust your instincts… good relationships feel light. They feel right. They don’t hurt. They’re not painful. That’s not just with romantic relationships. That’s with friendships, that’s with family relationships.”

Let us continue to uplift and support one another, embracing our uniqueness and collective strength.

The Tamil Federation of Gauteng West Region remains dedicated to celebrating and empowering women, recognizing their invaluable contributions to our society.

We look forward to many more successful events and initiatives, fostering a community that values equality, respect, and inclusivity.

A sincere thank you to our sponsors, attendees, and the TFG West Region team for making this Women’s Day function an unforgettable experience.
