Police swiftly arrest suspect in Eldorado Park shooting, one dead

A 37-year-old suspect was arrested by the police in Eldorado Park after he shot and killed one female and injured another person as he was shooting randomly in Eldorado Park on Tuesday, 14 May at approximately 19:20.

It is reported that a group of people were sitting next to the local tuckshop when a man known to them started shooting randomly in their direction. One person was certified dead on the scene while one other person was taken to local medical care centre with gunshot wounds.

After the matter was reported to the police at Eldorado Park Police Station, a manhunt for the suspect was immediately launched and the suspect was apprehended within a few hours.

The suspect is expected to appear before Lenasia Magistrate’s Court facing charges of murder and attempted murder.
