Gauteng SAPS’ commissioner, Lt. Gen. Elias Mawela, has praised the vigilance of Soweto Flying Squad officers who intercepted a suspicious vehicle and arrested two suspects in the Ennerdale precinct on 26 August, recovering three rifles in the process.

A VW Polo Vivo carrying three people was stopped on the Golden Highway, leading to the N1 Highway. The driver fled but two others were caught with illegal weapons – two R5 rifles and an AK-47, along with ammunition. Charges are pending, and the police seek information on the fleeing suspect via #CrimeStop at 08600 10111 or #MySAPSApp
