One of the most distinctive qualities of the Daxina (Lenasia South) community is our unwavering ability to come together in times of crisis.

It’s our superpower – a strength that has shone brightly for over four decades. Whether it was distributing food parcels and offering medical aid during COVID-19, responding to flooding, supporting victims of motor vehicle accidents, or rallying together on significant religious occasions like Easter, Ramadan, Diwali and Christmas, our community has always stood united.

Built on a foundation of good deeds, we are a community where neighbourliness and care for one another are the threads that bind us. Time and again, ordinary people have performed extraordinary, selfless acts, reminding us of the compassion and resilience that define us. While political, social, or cultural differences may seem like divides, our unity always shines through.

Anchored by our places of worship – our churches, mosques, temples and the local community police forum and local stakeholders – our collective spirit of generosity and service has been the backbone of our strength. This water crisis is yet another example where our community spirit has triumphed, proving once more that when we come together, there is nothing we cannot overcome.

None of this would be possible without our community volunteers, who continue to make our town happen through their tireless dedication and selfless efforts. Very often, they work quietly, behind the scenes, saving lives, keeping us safe at night, feeding and clothing the less fortunate, building cultural and racial unity through prayer, sport and other activities. They are, and have been, the heartbeat of Daxina, ensuring that our community thrives no matter the challenge. We are, and always will be, a community that stands strong, united, and proud.

As 2024 draws to a close, a hearty thank you to everyone who did their bit to help over the past few days. It’s all the little things that add up. Your efforts are noted, and appreciated. Let’s continue in this spirit as 2025 beckons. Thank you.
