Laughter, music and community spirit filled the streets of Hillside on Saturday, May 9, as Hillside Learning Academy hosted a successful Mother’s Day Walk and Aerobics event in celebration of mothers and healthy living.
Mothers, children and community members gathered at the academy in Hillside Developments early in the morning before setting off on a 5km walk through the community. The programme later continued with an energetic aerobics session that kept participants entertained and active.
The event ended on a warm note as attendees shared soup and refreshments while socialising with one another.

Participants also received medals and gifts in appreciation of their support and involvement in the celebration.
Hillside Learning Academy principal Karabo Masekoameng said the event created an opportunity for mothers and residents to connect while promoting healthy living and community unity.
“It was beautiful to see mothers and community members coming together to celebrate motherhood, health and unity. The 5km walk and aerobics session brought excitement and positive energy, and sharing a warm cup of soup afterwards made the day even more special,” said Masekoameng.

She thanked all participants for their support and contribution in making the event a memorable success.
The Mother’s Day event formed part of the academy’s efforts to encourage healthy lifestyles while celebrating the important role mothers play in families and communities.
