Residents of Ward 6 in Finetown,welcomed the official launch of Operation Restore today, 17 March, a targeted initiative aimed at improving service delivery across the area. The programme focuses on tackling long-standing infrastructure challenges and ensuring that municipal services meet community needs.
The launch was led by the MMC for Transport, Cllr. Kenny Kunene, alongside the Johannesburg Roads Agency (JRA) Board and CEO Mr. Zweli Nyathi. MMC Kunene was on the ground, overseeing operations and engaging with residents to understand the most urgent issues affecting ward 6.
According to social media post, on Facebook, MMC Kunene highlighted that Operation Restore includes gravel road grading to improve access, unblocking stormwater drains to prevent flooding, road markings to enhance safety, pothole repairs for smoother travel, and maintenance of stormwater systems to protect critical infrastructure.
