The HCC Diwali Festival in Lenasia once again brought the community together in a spectacular celebration, this year commemorating Lenz70. The event, hailed as one of the premier cultural gatherings in the area, showcased the rich heritage, unity, and festive spirit of the broader Lenasia community.
Chairperson of the HCC, Kishore Badal, expressed his heartfelt gratitude to all involved: “It is with the greatest joy and appreciation that we thank our partners, sponsors, performers, volunteers, and the community for making this festival a resounding success. This event truly reflects the dreams and energies of our forebears over the past three decades.”
Key stakeholders and community partners who contributed to the festival’s success included Savage Protection Services, K9 Protocol, Alpha Security, Crime Shield, Lenasia CPF, Santech Fireworks, SAPS, Lenmed Health, educational institutions, media houses, and countless local businesses. Their support, alongside the dedication of performers, comperes, dancers, singers, and volunteers, ensured a seamless and memorable celebration.
The HCC also acknowledged the Ext 5 and 7 communities for their warm support and Dr Ismail Vadi for his address and leadership on the Lenz70 recognition project. The festival’s programme included cultural performances, music, dance, and a grand fireworks display, delighting attendees of all ages.
Reflecting on the spirit of the event, Kishore Badal added: “Because of every one of you- named and unnamed – we have been able to stage a festival of this nature and calibre. Your love, commitment, and belief in us make all the difference.”
As the festival closed, the HCC extended its best wishes to students preparing for upcoming examinations and reaffirmed its commitment to fostering learning, culture, and community cohesion in Lenasia.
