At just 12 years old, Lenasia South Ext 4’s Criselda Nedombeloni, a Grade 7 learner at Parkside Primary School, is making her community proud as a finalist in the prestigious Miss Pre-Teen Gauteng pageant.
For Criselda, the experience has been more than just walking a runway. “This journey has been one of the most exciting and empowering experiences of my life. I’ve learned the importance of confidence, kindness and perseverance. It’s not just about wearing a crown – it’s about using your voice to make a difference,” she said.
Criselda’s involvement in community initiatives and charity projects has been a highlight of her journey. She believes pageants give young girls more than glamour – they provide platforms for growth, leadership and compassion.
“I want other girls like me to know they can dream big, believe in themselves.and achieve anything,” she added.
Her mother, Fikile Masango, expressed immense pride. “As a parent, watching Criselda blossom through this journey has been amazing. She has grown into a confident, thoughtful young lady who understands the value of giving back to others. For me, she is already a winner,” said Fikile.
The Miss Pre-Teen Gauteng pageant has also given Criselda the chance to improve her modeling skills and celebrate her talent and personality.
Looking ahead, she hopes to continue inspiring her peers.“I encourage people to support local pageants – not just for the glitz and glamour, but for the lessons they teach us: to lead, to care and to chase our dreams,” Criselda concluded.
For the Lenasia South community, Criselda is already wearing a crown – one of courage, determination and hope.
