Women gathered at the My Life Matters Centre in Extension 8 to promote breast cancer awareness, encourage early detection and remind one another of the importance of prioritising their health.
The community event, held on 27 October, created an opportunity for women to learn about breast health, recognise potential warning signs and speak more openly about a disease that affects many families. The gathering highlighted how community-driven initiatives can help make important health information more accessible while encouraging women to seek medical advice when they notice unusual changes in their bodies.
Aunty Lee also attended to show her support, joining women who came together around the shared message of awareness, education and solidarity.Beyond the event itself, the gathering served as a reminder that conversations about breast cancer should continue throughout the year, rather than being limited to awareness campaigns.
By sharing knowledge and encouraging one another to take their health seriously, women can help build a community where seeking medical advice is supported and prioritised.
The message from Eldorado Park was simple: awareness can start with a conversation, but taking action when something feels wrong matters.
