The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) has brought forward its November 2026 social grant payments, with older persons due to receive their grants from 30 October, ahead of the upcoming Local Government Elections. In a media statement issued on Wednesday, 14 October, SASSA announced revised payment dates following consultations with various stakeholders and approval from National Treasury.

Under the revised schedule, the Older Persons Grant will be paid on Friday, 30 October, followed by the Disability Grant on Monday, 2 November. Children’s grants will be paid on Tuesday, 3 November. SASSA said the changes aim to ensure that payments continue efficiently and securely, with minimal disruption during the election period.

The agency has also designated Thursday, 5 November, as an additional payment date for beneficiaries whose grants fall under the review process. Beneficiaries whose grants are under review are urged to respond to official communication from SASSA and attend review appointments when requested.

SASSA has advised beneficiaries against visiting its offices unnecessarily, saying payments will be processed according to the announced schedule. The agency also warned the public to guard against misinformation and disinformation about social grants, urging beneficiaries to rely on its official communication channels for accurate updates.

SASSA said it remains committed to ensuring eligible beneficiaries receive their grants reliably while protecting the integrity of the social assistance system.

For more information, beneficiaries can contact SASSA spokesperson Dr Paseka Letsatsi on 082 883 9969 or email: PasekaL@sassa.gov.za.
