An intelligence-driven operation spanning Ennerdale, Mondeor and the N1 highway in Johannesburg has resulted in the arrest of two suspects and the recovery of three vehicles.
The operation involved the South African Police Service (SAPS) specialised units, the Gauteng Traffic Police Airwing, CAP Specialised Operations and Tracker Connect. Authorities recovered two Toyota Etios vehicles and an Isuzu double-cab bakkie during the operation.n The vehicles are reportedly linked to theft and robbery cases registered in Phoenix, Westonaria and Honeydew.
Cellphones and suspected false vehicle registration plates were also seized as part of the operation. The two suspects remain in custody as investigations continue to establish whether they may be connected to additional criminal activities.
Police have not provided further details about the identities of the suspects or the circumstances surrounding their arrests.
The operation highlights ongoing efforts by law enforcement agencies and private security partners to recover stolen vehicles and investigate suspected criminal networks operating across Gauteng.
