Community urged to help Ennerdale family

A community activist has renewed an appeal for assistance for an unemployed single mother and her three children whose home in Ennerdale Extension 8 is in urgent need of repairs.

Amelia Naude became aware of the family’s circumstances after delivering a food parcel to their home earlier this week. During the visit, she realised that the family needed more than food assistance and decided to reach out for additional support.

The mother is unemployed and cares for three children, including two boys with disabilities, while her daughter is currently attending high school.

After seeing the condition of the house, Naude asked the mother for permission to take photographs and share her situation with the community in the hope of finding people willing to assist with repairs.

Naude said she has shared the appeal across several community groups and also approached various political parties for assistance, but has yet to receive support from any of them.

“I previously appealed to both the community and various political parties for assistance on behalf of this single mother, but to date, not a single political party has come forward to offer any form of assistance,” Naude said.

She is now calling on residents, businesses and organisations that may be able to assist with building materials, repairs or other forms of support.

“If you are in a position to help, please consider supporting this family. Any assistance that can help repair their home and improve their circumstances would be greatly appreciated,” she added.

Naude hopes residents will rally behind the Extension 8 family and help create safer and more suitable living conditions for the mother and her children.

Anyone willing to assist can contact Amelia Naude on 073 502 5239.
