A 20-year-old man was fatally shot in Lawley Ext 2 during the early hours of Saturday, 27 June.
The police were ate the scenc on Paul Street at approximately 2:45am after reports of a shooting. The victim was found lying on the ground, wearing a black and white sports tracksuit, with gunshot wounds to the face and chest.
Emergency Medical Services (EMS) responded and attempted to assist the victim at the scene. However, he succumbed to his injuries.
During the investigation, police recovered one pistol cartridge at the scene, which will form part of the forensic investigation. The body was transported to the Sebokeng Government Mortuary by Sebokeng Forensic Pathology Services.
SAPS said: “No suspects are arrested and detained in police lawful custody regarding this matter and the motive for the shooting is still under investigation.”
